I’m Danny Carrao, the President
of Intelliflix and I want to welcome you to the inaugural
edition of Intelliflix’s Presidential Perspectives,
the place where your voice is heard and you have a voice
in shaping the company that you’re a part of. We’ve
created a place for you to E-mail me and to let me know
how you think we’re doing with our services, what
you like, specific suggestions for improvement (please
this isn’t a place to rant and call me names!), maybe
a tip or two that you want to share with other members,
etc. I’m not trying to be our customer support department – they
do a great job without me – so if there’s something
specific you need help with, please keep writing to them
(for example, if you forgot your password, or want to upgrade
your account, etc., please keep creating support tickets).
Around once a month I’ll pull ideas
from your E-mails and will write a column just like this
for everyone to read. We think that we provide a great
home entertainment experience and we want to make it even
better, we think this is another step in that direction!
In this first edition,
I want to share a couple of the great features of our system
that will help you make sure you get the absolute most
from your Intelliflix membership experience.
Coming Back Feature
Here’s a
very exciting part of our web site, and one that NO OTHER
major service offers! Our Coming Back feature dramatically
speeds up your shipping time and makes it possible for
you to get even more great movies from us. Here’s
how it works. When you’re finished watching one of
our movies, simply place the movie back in the matching
numbered sleeve and envelope, and drop it in the mail like
you normally would. Then, come back to our web site, pull
up your Queue and find the movie that you just sent us
back. Click on the drop down box to the right of the movie
name and select I’ve Sent it Back. What that does
is tell us that the movie is on its way back and then it
opens up a spot in your queue for us to send you your next
selection (this is applicable to all general release titles,
but not to games or mature content). No more waiting for
us to receive the movie back and check it in before you
get your next one! You can do this with one movie at a
time - once we get the movie that you’ve marked
as Coming Back, we allow you to mark another one as Coming
Back, and so on. We’re
quite proud of this little guy – it’s part
of what makes us deliver more movies for less money than
any other service!
Sub-Accounts
If you’re like me,
with kids in the house, there’s usually a constant
struggle over which movies to put in your queue. Sure,
you can pull “parental privilege” and put all
the grown-up movies at the top of your queue (or even make
a “hold” mysteriously appear on the kids movies).
:) But there’s an easier way to make sure that there
are always plenty of grown-up movies AND plenty of kid
movies for everyone – and no, I’m not going
to suggest that you buy another membership for the household.
Instead, I wanted to remind
everyone about the Intelliflix sub account feature. With
this feature, you can divide your membership into pieces,
and allocate a certain number of movies to the kids out
of your three out at a time membership. The kids will get
their own Intelliflix username and password and their own
separate queue that you or they can load with movies (with
parental controls to make sure that they only see things
rated what you want them to see). When Intelliflix assigns
titles to your account, the adults will get movies from
their queue, and the kids will get movies from theirs – up
to your three out in any month. Of course, this works with
our Premium membership, too – you can divide your
Intelliflix membership into a queue for general release
movies and one for mature titles, or one for games, however
you want to do it (please note that the master account
is the only one that can receive mature titles). You can
have two different sub accounts, along with the master
account, on any membership. If you did that, each queue
would have one of your three titles out each month. It’s
a great way to make sure that you’re getting the
different types of movies or games that you want to see!
Creating a sub account
can be done by first going to your Account page. Then go
to the bottom and you will see your name listed as the
Master account. To the right, click on Update Prefs. At
the bottom of the resulting screen, you will see a link
for Add User. When you click on it, you are essentially
creating a new sign-on with Intelliflix. You give it a
username and password and choose how many titles you want
this account to take from your total of three out at a
time then create the queue for it with other titles in
it. Make sure you specify which ratings you want this account
to be able to view.
So there you have it – two
more reasons why Intelliflix is the best value in home
entertainment!
